Referring a Client to The Woods Counselling

If you're a GP, specialist, physiotherapist, naturopath, or other health professional working with clients managing chronic pain, illness, or trauma — I'd be glad to connect. I work collaboratively with referring providers and am happy to share progress updates with consent.

I work with adults navigating:

  • Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, long COVID, and POTS

  • Chronic back pain, nerve pain, and complex regional pain syndrome

  • Autoimmune conditions and medically unexplained symptoms

  • Health-related trauma and traumatic diagnosis

  • Burnout and nervous system dysregulation related to chronic illness

Who I work with:

Wooden desk with a modern white table lamp, a small glass vase with purple flowers, a gray laptop, a closed beige notebook, and a pen, set against a beige wall. A perfect spot for online counselling.

Therapeutic approaches:

Sessions draw from Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and somatic approaches. And teach pacing and symptom management through psychoeducation. Treatment is tailored to each client's capacity and goals.

Two women holding hands across a wooden table with tea cups, a teapot, and notebooks. Meeting clients where they're at in their chronic pain journey.

Elysia Bronson is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is a board member of the Canadian Pain Society. She has specialized training in PRT, SSP, and trauma-informed care for medically complex clients.

About Elysia:

Young woman with long red hair, smiling, wearing a cream-colored hoodie with brown accents, standing indoors near a white wall and a green plant. Approachable and warm counsellor.

Sessions are covered by most extended health plans (RCC coverage), ICBC, WorkSafe, and CVAP. Clients receive a receipt to submit directly to their insurer.
